Page 168

FIRST      PREV      NEXT      LAST

New readers and Eisner voters! Thanks for dropping by, I appreciate it. If you'd like to catch up, I recommend beginning with my story's Preface before going on to Page 1. It's a pretty quick read.

You can use the links above to navigate, or click on each page to advance to the next.

And if you like the story, please come back and tell a friend. Thanks!

  1. Oh, can't wait for the reveal!

BTW: The comic now has a TV Tropes page: http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Webcomic/TheLastMechanicalMonster

  2. Nice to see what they turned the lot into!
Isn't the perspective for the people wrong? Of course, we would have a hard time to recognize anyone when we only see the top of the head and shoulders.

  3. Jeriendhal, I had no idea that page existed. How cool! And it's accurate as well, which isn't always true for things like this. Thanks for letting me know.

Sepp, I'd agree that the perspective is a bit wonky, but deliberately so. As I once wrote about the art of the great comic book artist Jack Kirby, "When the rules get in the way of storytelling, the rules lose. Being 'better drawn' would not make it a better comic."

By the way, if it's not obvious, today's page is the left side of a two-page spread, despite the fact I can't display it that way online (given the blogger template). I am indeed thinking ahead to print possibilities. Come see the rest of the picture on Friday!

    1. Well, it didn't exist until this morning when I put it together. :) Glad you liked it.

    2. Wow! That's fantastic, and looks like it was a lot of work (even just tracking down the various tropes would take hours and hours, just because they'd all lead down different rabbit holes). Thanks very much, I appreciate it!

  4. I love that Lillian's shop is now the Tech Museum. Made me tear up a bit.
